Topic: Error connecting to TurtleRadio - Station List server not available

I for the life of me cannot get it to work, I changed my user name in turtle radio to same one I use here and nothing, I tried to regenerate which didn't seem to help. Yet my other audiotron works fine "mind you I haven't rebooted it to test it would sync"

Do you have any other suggestions?

The forum you are posting on now is on:
http://duncan.turtleradio.com/

This is the same server that provides your favorites list.

All is working here..

I think we are down again, I keep getting Error connecting to TurtleRadio - Station List server not available  please let me know if this is the case.

Thank you in advance

Good isn't it!

William did a great job in getting this up and running, especially as there are probably (my guess) only a few 10s of devices using it.
Persuading TB to make the necessary changes required persistence in my part. They were not really against doing it once it was all explained but the challenge was to get it to the right person to authorise it and then get the IT person who could do it to put it on their list of tasks with enough priority to make it happen.
Plus thanks to Hiran for his curated list.
If there was enough interest and usage I'd love to see the list maintained automatically based on a subset of the full set where stations with stream formats that are incompatible are simply excluded from the AT list but there would be effort required which is difficult to advocate for when the user base is so small.
If there were other devices that needed such filtering then the argument would be stronger.

I have been locally mastering turtleradio.com for I can't remember how long.  I even shared the public NS with a couple friends and we manually edit a file with... wait for it ... vi

Because of a power outage, my AudioTron booted and got the public name resolution.  Let me tell you, I was really, really puzzled when I saw 1,000+ stations.

Bless you.   I'm off to send a donation.

Didn't come back immediately for me but all working again today - many many thanks!

You would need to resolve lookups of
duncan.turtleradio.com
to the IP address of
www.listenlive.nl

(I have since had some feedback from TurtleBeach - but only that they are looking into it)

I can implement a new dhcp server locally and resolve DNS requests for turtlebeach to listenlive, but what should I check for and where should I divert it to?

Indeed we are waiting for Turtlebeach to make a DNS change..
For a while a second server was taking care of the old IP address unfortunately the old IP is now gone.

There is a known pending problem with a change of IP address of listenlive.nl - and TurtleBeach needing to make a DNS change to support it. Perhaps the old IP address has now been lost (William?). I have tried reaching out to 3 different contact points at TurtleBeach over last 3 months to get them to make the dimple change at their end but no response so far. Feel free to pester them and refer them to this post and email from me.

I'm having problems with this again. I recently lost power and had some issues reconnecting to my NAS unit but all ok now. The Turtleradio part still isn't working, I can ping both local and remote hosts from the AT but cannot link to Turtleradio (internet connectivity test fails and station list server unavailable). It was all working until recently.

I already tried a username Audiotron in case it was my ID but no dice.

Would be grateful for you assistance as I really love some of the stations I get on my AT and cannot get them via DAB or analogue where I live.

That is correct, we use Hiran's file as master file for Audiotron users.
This means that every Audiotron, no matter what ID they use should be able to find this file.
Only if you setup an account here and select your own favorites this file is overwritten by your selection.

Thanks Hiran for your efforts!

First check if your network is working and can access the internet. Then put the ID as  Audiotron . you should be able to find more than 900 stations. The unit supports only 1000 stations and in a few days the list will have the maximum number.

I will share the file I use to make the station list so everybody can edit to there own taste.

I picked up a brand new AT, I had one many years ago but sold it for some somedumb reason but I stumbled across a brand new one still sealed in it's box, great!! WELL I'm trying to setup my AT for net radio and I'm making no progress.  I wasn't aware of Listenlive.nl but instead started with enableing the local host file and putting the radio.tr file in share path, that got me a impressive list of stations however most didn't work (by stumbling along I found 1 out of 30 I tried). I updated the firmware to the last oldest release. So then I found this site so I disabled local host file and created a userID here, and put my ID which so far now when I search for stations I get Error connecting to TurtleRadio - Station List server not available. When my AT powers up, it doesn't find any stations either.

Is there something I'm missing?

Any suggestions?
