No, it is really an ntp topic. The firmware contains a hard coded ntp server address as the target server was not reachable any longer. The result is that the displayed date and time in the display are not correct (start in year 2007).
The fix replaces this target address by executing a small script. Unfortunately, the 'new' server is no longer available, too. So the fix does not help a lot. I already unwrapped the modified firmware, but I was not able to modify and rewrap it, properly. Could you give me a hint how to do it?
There is a strange binary file 'mplayer', which is not only responsible for playing the audio stream, but also controls the display menu and other functionalities. It has little to do with the open source project of the same name.

Uh, why is it called "ntp fix"? ntp being the general term for "network time protocol" eg. servers that provide the actual time via the internet to your devices.. I assume it is referring to something else..?
What you could do is unwrap the binary, edit the top 200 file, pack it again and load that.. But thats only a temporary fix.
The best way is to use a workign server like we do for other iradio products. Anyway, I really would need original firmware files. I might have some stored as I copied most of the iradio server contents many years ago. Just need to take a closer look..

Can I support in any way? I don't want to rush, just want to know if there's anything else I can do.

Yes, this device looks very similar Did you already patched its original firmware?
Unfortunately, I do not own an original firmware file, but the already modified version can be downloaded at https://sourceforge.net/p/pimpmyradio/code/HEAD/tree/images/. It might make sense to use the IR8090906183.3E3.ntp-fix.bin with the modified ntp server, only .

Ahh.. an ir168 clone.. So the most easy approach would be to make a small tweak to the firmware so that it uses our server..That would provide the station links and even add the user favorites. I would need to have a look at a firmware update file for that.

I know that as there is/was another project with the goal to modify the firmware ( https://sourceforge.net/p/pimpmyradio/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/). There, also this forum is linked. Unfortunately, the fix to replace the ntp server is no longer usable as the replacement server is unreachable, too. I already tried to modify the firmware myself, but I have problems with the provided tools. So, I wonder if it may be an idea to use the Listenlive firmware which should be uptodate ,

Hi,
Why do you think your device uses SkyTC firmware? Is there a settings or information screen where it shows a firmware version/type/number or something else that gives a hint about the firmware? Is there an Internet portal/website where you can add or check radio stations? Did you open the device ?

Hi,
I have an old S2 Digital WWR1 web radio that uses some kind of SkyTC firmware. It does not have a TFT display, a few lines LCD display only.
https://www.openpr.de/news/221833/S2-Digital-stellt-das-neuste-Internetradio-WWR1-im-Retro-Design-vor.html
Although I found some SkyTC firmwares, here they seem to support different devices, only. Am I right?
