You are now using the official firmware. This firmware uses the official database from the Taiwanse company called Penbex.
Penbex is not really active anymore. The hardware is getting outdated. For example it is too slow to do AAC+.
The guy that started the Penbex company has left and started a new unrelated project.
Their database is kept running but not really up-to-date.

It was never really up-to-date anyway. So thats why I created this server, database and the modified Penbex firmwares.
The main advantage is that you have the ability to add and edit stations on this server. Thus you can get all the latest changes and updates.
So the disadvantage you mentioned was solved a few years ago.

The notice of a newer firmware was put online by mistake. So thats why you had the message. As I was busy with working on other fixes I did not notice.
I fixed that error after your message. So the best thing you can do is to load the modified firmware.

Also note that it is not unlikely that Penbex shuts down their database in the near future.
They do not seem to have any contractual obligations in trems of new sales that will push them to keep it alive.
When that happens you can only use the device with the modified firmware anyway.

Same problem with the AKIRA AKUB KW-1004-2.0.0.18 firmware. It signaled each time I switch on the device there is a new firmware indicated and after downloading there is an error message. Is it possible to have rapidly a new firmware without this bug please.

I'm unable to update my NEON N-1004 with the latest firmware online (KW-1004-2.0.0.18-build 01/11/11-1822) !

I have been able to update my NEON N-1004 with the following file : http://www.listenlive.nl/dlpagemod.php?file=KW-1004-2.0.0.18.zip
The only issue is : this upgrade is NOT the revision 18 but 17 !!!!!

For this reason, my system is always asking to update is the Automatic Update is set to ON !

So I suppose the online firmware has an issue with the NEON N-1004 and the file on the Downloads section should be verify.

Can someone provide me an update ?
